N.J. women accused of submitting mail-in election ballots on behalf of dead family members

Two women were charged with voter fraud after an investigation into mail-in ballots they submitted was launched following a tip from the Middlesex County Board of Elections, officials said.
A 58-year-old Parlin woman was charged with third-degree fraudulently voting by mail, and she allegedly voted in the name of a dead family member, according to a statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
In an unrelated crime, another woman, a 57-year-old Monroe Township resident, was charged with submitting a forged application for a mail-in ballot, impersonation, and forgery, which are all third-degree crimes, the office said.
She was also accused of submitting a forged application on behalf of a dead family member, investigators said.
It was unclear when their alleged actions occurred, as no other information was released by the prosecutor’s office.
