The sign of the "Life Guards Regiment" is a sign of distinction, which was established on July 8, 1907. The unit itself began its existence on November 9, 1796. The award was made in the form of a silver Kulm cross, which was additionally covered with black paint. In the central part of the sign were the golden monograms of Paul the First and Nicholas II, which from above end with the golden imperial crown.
The sign of the "Life Guards Jäger Regiment" was presented to representatives of the heroic regiment. It was formed in 1796 from the jaeger groups of the Izmailovsky and Semenov regiments, as well as the Jaeger company of the Gatchina troops. In 1806, it was given the status of the Jaeger regiment of the Life Guards, and from 1856 to 1971 it was called the Gatchina regiment of the Life Guards, until the old name was returned to him. The unit was located in St. Petersburg, its barracks were located on Ruzovskaya Street.
The regimental feast was celebrated on August 17, the birthday of the Holy Martyr Mironiya. The Life Guards Regiment is part of the Russian Imperial Guard. The word "huntsman" in German means "shooter" or "hunter". As a rule, in the Prussian army, the sons of foresters and hunters were recruited into the huntsmen, and such units proved very effective in the Seven Years' War. So, the main battles took place on rough terrain, where the standard tactics did not work, so sharp arrows could act alone.
