Original period antique cabinet card. Civil War General James A Garfield who later became a compromise candidate on the 36th ballet at the Republican Convention. He then became the 20th President of the United States and was subsequently assassinated by Charles J. Guiteau on July 2, 1881. The photographer is J. F. Ryder out of Cleveland Ohio.
The photo is a little dirty, shows spotting, showing some wear, age and uncleaned. Looks to have been shortened at the bottom.
Measures OD about 6 1/16" x 4 1/4"
