USSR Naval Flag of the Chief of Staff the Soviet Navy, in wool bunting, dated 1990.
This is Guaranteed 100% ORIGINAL Soviet flag made in 1990 exclusively for the use by the Soviet Navy, not a civilian item, souvenir, recent reissue, or replica!
The flag is in VERY LARGE size, approximately 3.5' x 6' (43 inches x 69 inches to be more precise).  It is the same as regular Soviet naval ensign but with a large gold wreath around the star and with red anchor behind it. The canvas hoist sleeve shows a 1990 date of manufacture, the name of the manufacturer (Vladimirkaya Factory), the GOST manufacturing standard code adopted in 1981, and a round quality control stamp.
The flag is in GREAT condition and will display beautifully. The colors are strong and bright, not faded. The fabric is sound and clean overall with just a single small area of very faint soiling on the far end near the sickle (it may clean off and, in any case, practically unnoticeable considering the size of the flag). There are creases from long storage, but they probably can be easily steamed or ironed off if desired. There are some tiny moth bites here and there – the biggest of them about 4 mm long and the rest even smaller - that are hard to find even at close inspection and won’t be visible at all at a normal viewing distance.  There are no big moth holes or active moth problem. Because of their small size relative to the size of the flag, all these flaws do not make significant impact on the overall impression from it.
